Guided Tours in Khao Sok

Khao Sok Jungle Huts has been operating tours for more than ten years. Our guides are reliable, act responsibly and speak English fluently.

While there are many things to do that don’t require the assistance of a guide, the gems of Khao Sok National Park can only be explored on a guided tour.

Below is a list of some of the tours that we offer. Plus the amazing “Cheow Lan Lake Tour” which you can see here.

One day trekking

Individually planned trekking trip depending on the interests of the trekking party. Please talk to us about your interests how many kilometres you would like/ are capable of walking and whether you are afraid of heights.

Here is a sample itinerary:

– 9.00 a.m. Departure – on this tour we will trek through the rainforest and you will see many different species of flora, butterflies and birds such as the Great Hornbill. Some animals we may encounter are: monkeys, dusky langurs, wild bear etc.
– 10.30 a.m. Arrive at Bang Hua Read where you will find many huge rocks for sun bathing and a swimming hole.
– 11.30 a.m. Continue trek to Wang Yaow for lunch, relaxing and swimming.
– 1.00 p.m. Depart from Wang Yaow trekking to Tang Nam where the Sok river has eroded a dramatic gorge through the rock and has created a deep swimming pool. Swimming and relaxing.
– 3.00 p.m. Return to Khao Sok Jungle Huts Track and Trail Office.
– 5.00 p.m. Arrive at office.

Other destinations include Tan Sawan waterfall and Sipet Chan waterfall.

Two days, one night camping

On this tour we follow the Sok River upstream. We camp right in the jungle close to the river. Optionally you can go on night safari. Turning point is the Tan Sawan waterfall where there is a good opportunity to bath in a natural swimming pool.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1:

– 9.00 a.m. Departure towards Tan Sawan waterfall. Along the trail we can probably present you a wide range of animals and fantastic scenery of vegetation.
– 11.00 a.m. Arrive at Bang Hua Read a place which offers many big rocks for sun bathing and a refreshing swimming hole. We have lunch. Time to relax.
– 1.30 p.m. Continue trek towards Tan Sawan.
– 3.30 p.m. Looking for a nice place to stay overnight nearby the river. (We know some). Preparing the sleeping places (either hammock or tent). Furnish the cooking utilities out of fresh bamboo.
– 6.30 p.m. Cooking, BBQ, eating relaxing.
– 8.00 p.m. Night safari. If you dare…

Day 2:

– 8.30 a.m. Breakfast
– 10.00 a.m. Depart towards Tan Sawan
– 12.30 p.m. Arrive at Tan Sawan waterfall. Time for lunch and relaxation.
– 1.30 p.m. Depart trekking through the rainforest passing the Rafflesia flower (when in season).
– 4.00 p.m. Arrival at Khao Sok Jungle Huts

Elephant trekking

Tour starts with transfer to an elephant camp. On this trip you will ride on an elephant from it’s camp to a waterfall. Along the the trail you will see beautiful scenery of fruit gardens, streams, several species of butterflies and birds. Enjoy 30 minutes of swimming before returning on elephant back. Transfer back to Khao Sok Jungle Huts includes a stop at a view point overlooking the Sok river plain.

Night safari

About 7.30 p.m. we depart with a specialized guide for about 1.5 hours in the park. We return for a tea or coffee and and continue to trek through orchards for about one hour.

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that you will see many different animals, however the night is the best time to find them. During some nights we are lucky to encounter several species of mammals like barking deer, mouse deer, wild pigs, porcupines civets, long-tailed macaques, slow lori etc.

Canoeing on the Sok River tour

Canoeing is one of the favorite activities in Khao Sok. Many tourists come to Khao Sok to marvel the beauty of the nature, its limestone karst and relax in a peaceful atmosphere while the tour guide will paddle through the jungle down the river.

With our canoeing tour you have a opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Sok River, spotting birds, monkeys and even snakes curled on trees.
